What protections do you offer for Trades?

There's no more protection in a trade than in any other transaction. Which is to say...none. You have to use your best judgment, keep an eye out for red flags, and determine how much risk is involved and if that risk is worth it to you.

If a buyer comes to you and asks to do a trade, and they seem legit enough to at least consider the option, then we suggest you insist that they ship first. If it were a cash purchase, they would have to pay first before you shipped your animal. A trade should work the same way.

The only time we would ever suggest sending first or "at the same time" is if you initiated the transaction or if it was with a trusted friend.
