User Groups

Sellers can now determine specific users to display wholesale information to. When a user group is selected, ONLY the selected users with wholesale access can see the ad’s wholesale information. If a user is part of the selected group but doesn't meet the wholesale requirements (an approved seller with a paid account), they won't be able to see the wholesale details.

The regular portion of the ad’s visibility will not be affected.

  • If the ad is set to public, all users can see the regular ad, but only the users in the selected user group can see the wholesale ad.
  • If the ad is set to unlisted, only users with the link to the ad can view it. The wholesale portion will only be visible to the selected user group with the direct link.
  • If the ad is set to private, no other user can view the listing.

Sellers can choose to create custom user groups or choose from a set of predetermined groups. Multiple user groups can be selected. If no user group is selected, the default view is “All Users.”

  • Create a User Group: Sellers can create a custom user group by picking this option. If you are doing this from the edit/add animal page, you will be redirected to a new page. Please make sure to save any changes before navigating away.
  • Fill from Followers: This will include any user who follows your store.
  • Fill from Customers: This will include any user who you have marked an animal as “sold to.”
  • Fill from Prospects: This will include any user who has sent you an inquiry.
  • Fill from Pet Stores: This will include any sellers who have “Pet Store” as their organization type.
  • Individual User Dropdown List: A seller can select individual users from the dropdown list. This list contains all approved sellers with a basic membership or higher.

Users/groups can be removed from the list by clicking on the“X” next to their name.

Accessing and Creating User Groups

You can manage User Groups here.

To access this page via the menu:

  • Click on your account menu located in the upper right corner.
    • On mobile, this menu can be found by clicking on the circle icon with your store logo.

    • On desktop, this menu can be found by clicking on your username.

  • Select “User Groups”

User Groups can be added on the individual edit/add animal page:

  • Add a new animal or edit an existing animal.
  • Under “Wholesale Info,” select the dropdown next to “Visibility.”

  • Click on “Create User Group.”
    • PLEASE NOTE: You will be redirected to a new page. Please make sure to save any changes before navigating away. Any unsaved changes will be lost.

  • You can then return to the individual edit/add animal page and select your new custom user group.

Remember that if the "Wholesale Only" box is checked, the regular portion of the ad will not be visible to the general public. If a seller chooses to select a user group and checks this box, the entire ad will only be visible to the users in the selected group with wholesale access.

Adding User Groups to Listings

Currently, user groups must be added to each ad individually by using the edit/add animal page. User groups can not be added via the CSV import or bulk actions.

To add user groups to wholesale listings:

  • Edit or add an animal.
  • Fill out the listing details as normal.
  • Under the wholesale section, select the group or groups that you would like the wholesale ad to be visible for.
  • Finished editing/adding your animal and save.
