Request Credit Card or ACH Payment (Pay Onsite)
If you have connected Square to utilize our Buy Now feature, you can now request payment by credit card and/or ACH on all ad types, including auctions, sales, ads with variable shipping, etc.
- This feature can not be used on multiple-quantity ads that are not being sold as a group.
- You must have Square connected in order to use this feature.
How to Use- Seller
When a buyer sends you an inquiry, and you agree to sell the ad to them, you can request payment by card. To do this:
- Click on the messenger action (the + icon) in the lower right corner of the message thread.

- Select "Request Payment"

- Input the total sales amount + shipping, select the payment types you want to allow (Credit Card, ACH, or Both), and submit Request.

- The buyer will be sent a link to securely input their credit card or banking details. Once the payment is submitted entered, the order will automatically be accepted and created.
- By requesting the payment via messenger, you are automatically agreeing to the order, and you will not need to reaccept it.
- If you need to refund the transaction, you will need to do so via the Square app directly.
Important Note: ACH transactions can take 3-5 business days to process. You will receive a notification once the bank approves and processes the payment. Learn more and see Square ACH FAQ here: https://squareup.com/us/en/payments/ach-payments
Updating Your Payment Methods
You can choose which payment methods to accept via this feature via your Seller Profile settings page.
- Scroll down to the "Payment Settings" section
- Underneath the button to Disconnect Square, you will see a "Enabled Payment Channels" option.
- Here you can add or remove the credit card and/or ACH option.
- Save your changes

If you do not wish to change this setting, you can also remove payment methods when you request the payment from the buyer in the messenger, by selecting the x next to the payment option you would like to remove.

How to Use- Buyer
Once you arrange details with the seller and they request the payment, you will receive a message with a secure link to input that information.
- Click "Pay Now."

- Enter your Shipping Details and then click "Proceed to Payment."
- Depending on the payment methods a seller accepts, you may see the option to select Credit Card, Bank Transfer (ACH), or both.

- Select the payment method of your choice (if available), and follow the prompts on the screen and input your Payment information. The seller will NOT be able to see this information.
- Once payment is accepted, the order will automatically be created.
